Burnham Harbor, J Dock
Our boat is located in Burnham Harbor (599 East Waldron Drive) just east of Solider Field. We will meet you at the gate to J Dock. Please Note: We are not located at Navy Pier!
We suggest that you plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your charters scheduled start time, as your charter starts at the agreed upon time. Taxis and busses have an easier time navigating the occasionally cumbersome parking during concerts and sporting events.
A convenience store, cafe, and restrooms are located in the Harbor Master’s office.
J Dock is the first dock along the waterfront, just north of the Harbor Master’s office. We will meet you at the gate prior to departure.
Museum Campus is served by CTA Bus Routes 130 and 146, which can be picked up at the Roosevelt Train Station, as well as near Michigan Ave and Roosevelt.
The 130 bus is an Express Bus and operates until 6PM.
The last 146 bus leaves Museum Campus approximately 1130 PM.
Taking a taxi is advisable, as parking at Burnham Harbor is around $22. Tell your taxi driver to take you to Burnham Harbor, 599 E Waldron Drive, which is behind Soldier Field.
Exit Lakeshore Drive on 18th Street, head east towards the water for about a 1/4 mile. Follow the road around the bend, to a stop sign at Waldron Rd, turn right, you will see the harbor clearly in front of you. Cross the bike path and on your right you will find the harbors public parking.
Parking is normally $22, but could be as high as $35 on dates with special events in any of the Museum Campus Venues or Solider Field. If that lot is closed, you may park in the Waldron Garage (enter off of 18th St) located south of Soldier Field between Waldron Drive and 18th Street. For more parking info see Soldier Field Parking.
Be advised – Parking is privately administered, and is run by Standard Parking. Their number is: 312-274-2110. Please call them to verify availability and pricing for your parking needs. We are not responsible for lateness due to parking limitations. Tall Ship Red Witch, LLC has NO affiliation with them. We recommend that group charters arrange group transportation.
